EFX3 - My New Blog Home2:30 PM - Thu 6 August 2009OK - the time has come - I've decided to blog in one place only as it's too much trying to keep up everywhere - I really hope most people here are now at Efx3 as it's easy to use and got the features such as "friends" etc back and running. My address there is http://www.chandramoon.efx3.com Please let me know if you don't have a blog there - there's plenty of support there from Pixie if you don't understand anything (or contact me if you have a simple question!) I'll keep an eye here for a while but from now on that's where you'll find me. comments {1}Quick hello10:57 PM - Wed 15 July 2009Sorry I've been such a dreadful blogger recently - just too busy to get to it.Life's been hectic but interesting. We've just got back from the Drum Camp in Suffolk which despite some not too brilliant weather, was excellent as usual. We've had one of our African teachers staying with us too and then tomorrow I'm off to London to see my son and various friends before heading off for a weekend with my daughter and son-in-law and my gorgeous grand-daughter. Next week is WOMAD festival where we'll be working in the drum workshop area from Weds then finally the following week I'll have a bit of time at home in the countryside! I've had a whiz round lots of blogs this evening though I haven't commented much I'm slowly re-subscribing to people either here or RSS feeds on EFx3 etc. Anyway - hope you're all well and see you next week. comments {0}I'm Back9:15 AM - Fri 29 May 2009Hi guys - well now the great Africa trip is over and we've actually moved consider me back in the loop.I'll re-subscribe here to people still blogging so leave me a comment and I'll head over and subscribe if I haven't already. I'll get some more pics of the gorgeous place I'm living now - the weather is glorious so I'll be outdoors for the next few days. Bye for now! comments {2}Bye for Now10:37 AM - Tue 24 March 2009This will be my last post from the UK till May as I'm off back to the Gambia tonight till Apr 29th.My house sitter's in place, bags packed, festival gear boxed (including several thousand different colour wristbands), coach and plane tickets booked and ready to go. I've configured my African Mobile to update my Twitter so even if I can't find internet I'll send short messages to my Facebook Status and my new Efx3 blog has a Twitter feed in the top left hand column for anyone interested. NEWBLOG AT EFX3 - CLICK Last time I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to get internet access but we'll be travelling more this time so I have no idea yet how often I'll be able to be in touch. So for now - I hope you are all well and enjoying life - I'll re-subscribe to all my friends on my return. Bye for now!! x comments {4}EFx37:27 PM - Sun 22 March 2009I've launched a preliminary blog at EFX3 CLICKI find the Wordpress thing quite tricky and time consuming but hopefully will get to grips with it in due course. I'd be grateful if my friends could let me know if they're all going to set up there as well or whether I should continue to post here too. I'll keep Vox as my back up as it's so stable but it's a bit of a pain to have to back up THREE blogs!! I suppose it's just a quick cut and paste job but...... thoughts? comments {6}Back in business5:40 PM - Sat 19 July 2008Will blog here again from now but my latest posts are atvox Thank goodness we're up and running again! comments {10}Newsy Blog9:04 PM - Thu 12 June 2008Well I'm ready to add a decent blog post. I've been feeling a bit under the weather for a few days which was why I only put a few slides and things up.I had a great weekend - St Werburghs Festival on Saturday followed in the evening by a really lovely gig at the QEH Theatre featuring various local musicians. On Sunday night I played a gig myself (playing flute and djembe for Suzy Condrad). On Monday I played tennis in the morning as usual and did loads of paper work in the afternoon and sorted various worky things out. Yesterday was songwriting group as usual and it was inspiring - we're so lucky in Bristol to have a lot of talent and good musicians! Then I had a band practice as I have a couple of local gigs soon - both were as a result of Myspace page and the recordings up there. Today I got a track listed on an independent internet radio station - the more exposure the better - I put it here but it auto plays which is annoying so here's a link instead: http://iacmusic.com/stations/KIAC564...AC5644.htm Today I went to an amazing launch of a photographic exhibition to flag up the plight of refugees arriving as it's Refugee Week. I'm drumming on Sunday in Queens Sq with a choir as part of the same thing so I'm hoping for good weather as if it's sunny, half of Bristol will be there! Anyway - that's me caught up. comments {6}Efx group on Facebook7:52 PM - Wed 28 May 2008Just a note to anyone interested. There's a Facebook group for Efx so if it's down it's easy to keep in touch and share news and pics etchttp://www.facebook.com/group.php?gi...437&ref=nf comments {5}Weekend - brief summary10:59 AM - Mon 5 May 2008I had a lovely weekend with my daughter and her husband - they came up from where they live for a party in Bristol. We didn't go to the party in the end as my daughter (who's pregnant) wasn't well on Saturday but despite this we had a lovely time all together. I'm still knitting! My blogging mojo is still a bit off colour. My guitar mojo's gone missing but I've written a miserable new song ha ha! Today I'm going to Redland Fair - a local thing and I'll take the camera (it's a bank holiday in the UK today). I've got a good mate coming up from London for a few days tomorrow. My new website is nearly ready (the music one). This is my attempt at a blog post....................... oh and not to forget my love life........well yes..........let's just not go into that ....................... comments {8}Mojo1:06 AM - Thu 24 April 2008Where did my blogging mojo go?Answers on a post card please..... Love Chandra! comments {9}Monday6:19 PM - Mon 25 February 2008I had a good tennis session this morning - I really enjoy playing tennis - it de-stresses me, keeps me fit and is a good social group as well. This evening I'm going to a free gig at The Fleece and Firkin, a songwriters night with at least 3 performers - I'll take my camera and post something tomorrow. I'm looking forward to planning my new proper website - it'll have a forum facility for people to discuss songwriting, lyrics etc etc as well as everything to do with my music - less of the personal stuff more of the music. This blog will then remain mainly personal though of course, music will always be an integral part of the topics as it's what I do! Anyway, hope you've had a good weekend. Good to see Efx back up again - it seems to go on the blink every weekend. comments {7}Hurray hurray we're back xxxx8:20 PM - Sun 6 January 2008thanks Martin and Keith or whoever got this working again!! I'll double post at Vox as well as I've met some nice new people there too but thank goodness we're on again here.I really am addicted to this place - or to you lot I should say! *skippety skip* comments {7}Happy Christmas and Thankyou for being there!11:54 AM - Mon 24 December 2007
To all my dear blog friends A VERY HAPPY CHRISTMAS Whatever you're doing this holiday, whoever you spend it with, I hope you have a peaceful and happy time. You are all very special to me and I appreciate your friendship and support more than you can imagine. Thanks for a great year here at Efx2blogs - especially those behind the scenes who've kept it going. Bye for now - with love Chandra comments {12}Comments12:40 AM - Tue 13 November 2007I just read an interesting post by Birdshit (sorry Birdsnest) about whether people always leave comments or even read the people they're subscribed too and it made me think.I had a quick look through which of my posts attracted the most comments and it was hilarious - the post about the big show I did at the Colston Hall - a really significant event I'd worked towards for 6 months and which I put photos and everything up for - got 5 comments. A post I wrote which only said "I've got a cold ewww" got 26 comments!!!! Ha ha ha!! It just goes to show (I don't know what it goes to show but something). I love blogging - you just never know what tickles people or gets them commenting or interested! Sometimes the throwaway posts get the most interest anyway. I'm just back from a gig where I played flute and drums for a friend (not at the same time I hasten to add) then we went for a few drinks at a local pub. Back in the studio tomorrow - no rest for the wicked. comments {10} |
