Efx3 Blog10:30 AM - Mon 24 October 2011My main blog at Efx3 seems to be working fine now so I'll be there.Chandra's Blog Studio Time5:25 PM - Thu 20 October 2011I'm blogging here again for a while seeing Efx3 is still down.I've had a good few sessions in the studio now and the last 2 sessions we've been working on what I thought would be a simple song - but they're the hardest to get to sound right - the ones with least sound effects and instruments - to just get the sound of voice and guitar right has been challenging! The simplest song with the fewest chords has to be played better than those with more sophisticated content. Anyway I'm tired and have had a terrible mouth ulcer all week where I bit my cheek which has made me feel irritable and under the weather but I'm looking forward to the weekend - I think we're taking the van to Wales for a few nights which will be lovely. Peter's back tonight from working away for a few days and I'm looking forward to seeing him later - I get more done when he's away but miss him the whole time! I don't know if many people still read this site but it's good to know it's still up and running. See you soon. Efx3 Not working7:18 PM - Sun 16 October 2011Well at the moment Efx3 isn't working and my own website is down so I thought I'd do a quick post here!!I'm so pleased to be back in Bristol and things are going really well. I'm two days a week in the studio and making good progress with my second album, two sessions of tennis a week to get back to fitness and lose a bit of work, my flats are let out to good tenants, P's settling in well, I'm doing at least one open mic session a week and rehearsing weekly with Paddy my wonderful keyboard player. I loved the countryside where we lived for over two years but from now on I'll just visit the green - I'm truly a city girl!! Drum Camp1:13 PM - Wed 13 July 2011I'm just back from a weekend camping at an event we have here called Drum Camp which takes place in Suffolk.Not only did I attend wonderful workshops with the great Modou Diouf, sabar player and teacher but I also got to sit in on a workshop with Justin Adams (a fantastic blues guitarist) who collaborates with an amazing Gambian riti player (African violin) called Juldeh Camara. They are worldclass musicians and teachers and the evening entertainment cannot be easily described as it so good!! Juldeh Myspace To top it all off, I met a really good guitarist/drummer who really liked my music and is interested in playing on my new album when I start recording. All in all a fabulous weekend. I'm now staying on a barge on the Thames as we're supporting another week of workshops at SOAS with Modou in London playing the chol drums for a sabar class (the chols are the bass drums equivalent to the duns for djembe and they're my speciality).
